HUMAN RESOURCES

Amy Shelton was selected for the Human Resources Director position at DeSoto Parish Police Jury in May 2016. Ms. Shelton is a native of Gloster, Louisiana, and a North DeSoto High School graduate. She received her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management with Human Resources Management Emphasis from Colorado Christian University, Colorado Springs, Colorado.  

 

During a 20-year span, Ms. Shelton has attained human resources experience from various corporations and in the medical industry, most recently DeSoto Regional Health System as Human Resources Director. She has exemplified her capabilities in human resources, stateside and in the United Kingdom. This vast experience has enabled her to implement numerous programs that have improved the working environment for both management and the employees in every agency she has been employed.

 

Ms. Shelton is a United States Air Force Veteran and a national member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). She is also a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Foremost, she enjoys her family time with her two daughters (Natalee’ and Kennedee’ Shelton) and reading.
